This is a shot I took 2+ years ago in Colonial Williamsburg. I'm sorting through notes, historical material and crafting the story and plot lines of Book # 2 in the Coming Through Trilogy. I've contacted my book designer Ashlee Goodwin, and my book cover designer Beth Middleworth at Bat4Bones where you can see samples of her work. As I'm prepping and outlining, the characters are showing up and in a way hanging around in my studio for a visit.
I had a book launch party last November at the Steynberg Gallery in SLO for Coming Through, and signed a bunch of books. It was a fabulous party, that started with Betsey Nash interviewing me about the experiences involved in writing the book. Then she fielded questions from the audience. If you don't know Betsey, among many other talents, she once had her own radio show years ago, and I'd been interviewed by her before. Aside from being drop-dead funny, she is a great presenter. She made everyone laugh, and stimulated questions from a packed house. My buddy Dr. Steven Smith, whom I went to chiropractic college with, had come up from Pasadena with his wife Robin for the event. He wound up next to me on stage, and shared his experience of reading the book, and a few stories from way back that had us in stitches. After that Louie Ortega, a local favorite musician, joined me, Robyn Saxer, Scott Conroy and another friend to play songs from the companion playlist that's listed in the book. I went back East this summer, and did three more events. One in Gloucester, Massachusetts, another at Warner Hall Plantation in Gloucester, Virginia, and that was followed by a signing at William and Mary Bookstore. So why not have another now that my book is available through bookstore channels. I approached the manager at Barnes and Nobel, Nora Piccuci, and she set up an event with two local authors; one being me.
Sunday August 14, 2016 from 1-3 PM. I'll be making a short presentation, and doing some readings, followed by signing books for our guests. See you there.
